Book for those with ADHD or ADD children...

"I can't Sit Still" by Dorothy Davies Johnson, MD

I was reading some of it tonight and it really gives a good explanation of ADHD/ADD and some good tips on rewarding good behavior and such.

She compares having ADHD to having a really great bike that doesn't work right. There is a really great kid in there that just has trouble "steering".

Anyway, thought I'd pass along the info. It was written in 1992 or something. She's a pediatrician.

I have a nephew who is ADHD and is making his parents pretty nuts these days. He is 14 and has a ton of problems in school. He sometimes does his homework, and sometimes he won't. Most of the time he just won't turn it in.

He does things without considering the consequences. His impulse control seems to be really underdeveloped.

I'm sure my sister will check out the book. :)
