The University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC) just won a 9.6 million dollar grant for studying autism and why autists have such strong patterning in their lives (why they have to do specific things at specific times or with specific items).

DS was chosen in the preliminary and now I'm waiting on a call for a phone interview to see if he has exactly what they are looking for to use in the study. It will take about an hour. I'm kind of nervous.

I would love to have him in the study to help them but also for kind of selfish reasons of wanting to know how to deal with his quirks better. I guess it's not so selfish b/c it would make his life better if I understood him more but it feels selfish. KWIM?

I hope he gets selected for the study, and that you gain the valuable information you need. :)

We had the initial interview over the phone but it has to go to the next level and if they think my DS will help in their study, they will mail me a ton of papers to fill out.
