I'd like to suggest the Elsie Dinsmore books for the little girls in your lives. My 9 yo just devoured the first book in the series - Elsie's Endless Wait - and is begging me to purchase the others.
Good, wholesome books. Don't have to worry about the content. I had purchased the Princess Diary collection for her and started reading them myself. :thud: Too adult for her - she was sad! These are just her age!
