I just finished a new novel by Allison Bottke called "One Little Secret".

If you love Christian fiction, this is a wonderful story of a Christian mom who finds herself developing her musical talent in secret. It's very different than alot of the Christian fiction books that center around the woman who braves the Western prairie and tries to make a life for herself.

I seem to have read alot of those lately. That's why this one was such a treat. I'll be writing a review on this book on my site soon.

Definitely worth reading.

Karen,

There are a many books that aren't set in the 19th century west. I read quite a few of those when I first discovered Christian fiction and got tired of it, too!

The following authors write stories set in the present-day:

Karen Kingsbury
Francine Rivers
Terri Blackstock
Angela Hunt
T. Davis Bunn
Ted Dekker
Kristin Heitzmann
Robin Lee Hatcher
Linda Nichols
Beverly Lewis (present-day Amish)

I read more Christian fiction than anything and have personally read several books by the above authors, except for Ted Dekker. The only book of his I've read is one he co-write with Bill Bright called, Blessed Child. It was awesome! I'm going to see if I can find the sequel next time I go to the library.

Flautista,

Yes, I absolutely love anything by Karen Kingsbury, I'm hoping to read her newest one soon.

And I've read some of Francine Rivers work, it's also very good.

You know, the publisher for Beverly Lewis has sent me several of her books and I've yet to take the time to read any of them.

Maybe I'll give those a glance.

Thanks for the list, it's great.
