I found several sites that had questions for a journal jar...so I compiled them all and deleted the duplicates ( I think I got them all). There are between 4-500 questions here, roughly. What you do is copy these to word, cut them out on individual slips and then fold them up and put them in a jar. Give the jar and a notebook as a present. Each day the person pulls out a slip and writes about the topic/question on the slip.

Journal Jar Poem

"Preserve your memories - seal them up well.
What you forget, you can never retell.
But a journal that's kept fresh on the shelf
Will help someone through rough times -
Maybe even yourself!"

This little jar celebrates someone dear - YOU!
If you will follow a simple plan, you will find that
before this time next year, you will have a very
PERSONAL history finished! All you need to do is
draw out one slip of paper each day (or at least
once a week - it will just take longer to finish).
On it you will find a question. Spend a few
minutes and just enjoy remembering. Then
paste the question in a little blank book at the top
of the page and begin to TELL about it. Don’t
worry about spelling, handwriting, etc... just tell
YOUR story. Then remember you are loved!
My Journal jar for kids
Here’s a jar that tells a story! Each day, select a journal question. Paste it in a blank book, and write an answer. My journal will tell the story of you!
