Wow, there are so many names I recognize from being on this forum several years ago. I think my user name back then was Prov31wife....I don't know if anyone will remember me, but I thought I'd come back and try to get reconnected :)
Back when I was a member here I was going through some bad times in my marriage...my husband went mental and became abusive to me and my children. I tried to keep our family together but it was no use. The progression of his mental illness would not allow me to remain with him anymore. So we were divorced. I cannot tell you the relief I felt when it was *finally* over!
A short time later, I met a man through eharmony.com and there was an instant connection. It was like we finally met our soul mate! Long story short, we married on April 6 in the hospital ICU because his mom was dying and she wanted to see her son get married before she passed on. She did pass 11 days later. We had also planned a huge wedding/reception for May 21 and went ahead with that. Honeymooned in North Carolina at the Biltmore Mansion and visited the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Immediately after school got out for my kids in MI, we moved here to Indiana and my husband hired an Amish contractor and added a second story to our home here. His mother left the house to my husband so we are very blessed to be able to have such a home and no house payment! We added 1100 sq feet, which is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The downstairs still has 3 bedrooms, but we are turning those into guest rooms, an exercise room/man cave :)
I work in one of the local hospitals here in town and my husband works as a debt collector/accountant for one of the larger law firms. We are enjoying the adjustment to married life--this is his first marriage (he turned 46 yesterday) and he has no children of his own, but he calls mine his :) We are hoping that if God blesses us, one day we will have one of our own...who knows.
So, that's an update in a nutshell...I hope and pray everyone is doing well...I'm off to read threads and try to play catch up!
