I'm so glad I got here!!!
First, I will say that I am technically incompetent, belonging back in the dark ages of machines. To me, phones and tvs are simply--magic. I do NOT understand how they work, and computers--well, if the power button isn't labelled, I will have trouble locating it. So I am really thankful I am here, and able to move around much better than I had anticipated!!! Tickers, sigs, etc. will have to wait.:)
My screen name comes from my childhood nickname. I'm from Ohio--land of the buckeye tree. If you haven't seen one, they are a lovely dark, dark brown. Daddy tho't my eyes looked like buckeyes, so there you are! My hair is dark brown, too, with lots of chestnut highlights. Long and straight as a twig. I still live in Ahia--have all my life, altho now I'm about 2 hrs from my home town.
I'm an older mom--50 last year. I married at 35, first child at 37, second at 39, and third one in heaven. So right now ds just turned 13, and is SUCH a boy--loud, NOISY, and intent on bugging his sister to pieces. He has beautiful bright red hair and green eyes. Dd is 11, and is a blonde blue-eyed version of me!
We homeschool, ds just finished 6th grade (well, he's still working on math lessons to finish the book) and dd 5th. I teach them everything together except for math. Right now I confess to some burn out, so am really looking forward to the summer!!!!
Dh is not saved, and I deeply appreciate prayers for him. He says he doesn't believe much of anything. The kids both profess, but I must say I don't see as much evidence as I would like. :(
In my former life I was an HR administrator in a medical college. I went PT when ds was born, then even MORE PT with dd, even telecommuting some part of my hours. It was STILL too much, and I almost had a nervous breakdown. I came home from work one day mid-month, and told dh I had to quit. Bless his heart, he said "OK". :D By the beginning of the next month we began living on his salary. I worked out the end of my contract, and then came home. That was about 8 years ago!!!
Dh is a computer administrator for the same medical school--in fact, I interviewed him for the job! We were married 15 years this past May.
Hmmm, what else? Both my parents are gone, and of course all my grandparents. I have 2 sisters and one brother (lost 2 brothers); one sis is saved. Dh is 7 years younger than I, so his folks are fairly young, and he has one living grandparent.
OK, that's enough, huh? If anyone with an inquiring mind wants more, just lemme know!!!
