We took Caleb in and had his hair tested.
Apparently he's loaded with Aluminum and lead. (And studies show that a high percentage of kids with ADD/ADHD/Autism are living with toxic levels of heavy metals.) We're going to try and do a "detox" and see if that helps him.
Has anyone else tried this?

Not a personal experience.

When I was in Montana last June, one of my sister's friends went on and on though about this. She said it made huge differences in her son. He does not have ASD or anything though the school wanted him tested.

She encouraged me to do it but I haven't. Please keep us posted.

I know she still does some homeopathic treatments on her ds. I can get her e-mail if you want talk to her about it.

I would believe them. I believe very strongly in homeopathy. It's the basis of the science of anti-venoms etc.

If you can get him in to see someone who does electronic homeopathy, that could help with quicker cleansing.....nothing to it, you just sit there holding a metal pad.....it works with harmonic vibrations. He may get flushed and wiggling wherever in his body things are cleansing out though. I did when my gf did my ears......

Are you going through a DAN (Defeat Autism Now) doctor?
If not, I would highly suggest contacting one if you choose to go this route.

We are not using the DAN protocol b/c I don't think Connor's issues are biomedical. He has been tested for various metals, including lead and mercury, and everything has come back normal. He also does not show any physical signs of food allergies or yeast overgrowth, etc.

However, I have known parents who have pursued different biomedical treatments, and after having done research myself, if I were to go down that road, I would seek out a DAN doctor or practitioner. They follow a protocol that I feel would be the safest as it has been used on many different kids and by many different doctors.

Here's the link to information on the DAN protocol and lists of DAN doctors (including ones in Canada):

I have no experience to relate on this, although it sounds very interesting!

Let us know what you find out / how it goes!

I'll pray for you, too.

I have a friend who has a friend (yeah, yeah, I know... but I actually do know this gal and have met her several times)...

THeir child was diagnosed autistic. They did the tests and it came back with abnormally high levels of mercury. They were able to do some detoxing and said it helped tremendously, although the child isn't "cured". The autism will always be there, but the child did improve a lot.

So I know this is third-hand information, but I suppose that it can help! It's at least worth a try!
