I am looking for some ideas for my son's All Saints Day party at school.
He goes to a Catholic school that instead of celebrating Halloween has an All Saints Day party on Nov. 1st. Those catholics in the bunch will know what All Saints Day is, but for those of you who don't know what this is about here is the short:

- It is the Day after Halloween.
- A day to remember all the Saints Canonized by the Catholic Church.
- We remember what sacrifices many of them made because of their beliefs in Christ and acknowledge the contributions they made to society in the name of Christ.
- All Souls day follows on Nov.2 when we pray for all those who have gone before us in Christ.

(I think I am remembering all this right, please feel free to correct me any catholics who are out there):dunno:

It is a Pre-K class, last year they did things like "pin the Halo on the Saint" and the older kids dress up as their favorite saint. I found some ideas on Catholicparenting.com but would love any ideas you have.

Thanks,
Denise

Do you have any of those prayer cards? Maybe you could do a Memory-type game with them?

You could hand out the inexpensive medals as favors...let them choose from a few different saints and ask the parents to help them learn more about the saint they picked.

Find out who shares feast days with the kids' birthdays and make a little poster about who that saint is?

Thanks so much! I love the idea about what saint's feast day shares their birthday! I wanted to tell each kid who their patron saint was assuming each had one. Then I looked up my son's and he doesn't have a saint name in his name. Oops! Guess will fix that at Confirmation in 8 years!! But I know everyone has a birthday!!!

Their teacher actually has medals for them already, but we will definitely do a birthday saint chart!
