Hi all,
I am reading the new book by Julie Barnhill...One Tough Mother...
It is really good...she is helpful and I wish I would have read it when my
children were a little younger so I don't have to change so much...my parenting style...
I am home with the kids a few nights a week while my hubby works,(so I can stay home with them) and some nights it's hard on me...
This book has really helped me to stand my ground and they are learning when I say NO! I mean NO! As before I would say no a few times before they
listen...

Julie has really helped me to be the "boss" be the mom, god wants me to be...
I encourage you all to read it...
If you have read it, what are your thoughts???
Thanks!

I loved the book and really took some of the advice to heart. So many times it's easy to "beg" your kids to do something out of desperation b/c they just aren't listening. I am learning to say what I mean and mean what I say and if they don't do it....lead them to do it so they know it's not an option. I still do "bad" habits but think of some of her comments in the book and it breaks those habits as I'm starting to do them.

Great read with wonderful advice.

I agree with you!
She has also taught me to say what I mean/stick with it!!!

hello! i JUST got done reading this book...and i am so glad because, like you said, i am sick of begging my son to do things (he is 2, but still...).

i thought this book had some very good points. i really like julie's writing style (i also read "she's gonna blow" last week).

the only thing i would disagree with (and it's completely fine that we don't agree) is that scrapbooking is not a valid hobby for a mom. i love to scrapbook and find it relaxing. i also cherish the albums that i have completed.
