Other Comments -
I'm currently homeschooling our girls. This is my first year doing a garden (except once before when I was pregnant and dh did everything so that doesn't count!). I'm looking forward to learning and sharing lots on this board.

Hi Steph, Thanks for the welcome too. :) Yeah, Julie's book is just what I've been wishing for. I hated the yelling in our house growing up and find myself doing it when I'd sworn not to. So I'm reading it through then going to go back and study it. I'd love to chat with you via e-mail or PM about what we're learning if you're interested.

I too grew up in a house with lots of yelling... Vowed to not let that cycle continue. Definately pm me... I'm in and out this week. Tons to get done before the baby comes in a few weeks!

Debbie, That's really a neat coincidence. :) I'm North of Toronto but enjoy visiting "The City" as it's called here, or "Tirahna" as it's pronounced. Honestly, for the first year I had to stop and think what city dh meant. I knew Tirana was in Albania. LOL
How long have you been in IL? I'm coming to IL at the end of July and staying through Aug. Not sure what I was thinking planning wise coming the hottest part of the year, but we'll survive. :)

I've been in IL about 15 yrs now. Came her to go to college. I actually grew up in upstate NY. My mom is from toronto, her family still all lives in Canada.
The one thing I don't like about Il is the horrible heat in July and August. This yr I will be 8 months preg at the time so I plan to stay in the AC as much as possible!
Nice to "meet" you

Oh my goodness Debbie, I'm glad you have AC! I'm actually a little concerned about my youngest who has excema (sp?). It gets worse in the heat. But we all want to go so we'll make do. :)
I came to Canada to go to college and fell in love with a wonderful Canadian man. Totally not what I planned. LOL
It's very nice "meeting' you too!

Welcome and Hello (waving)
I have read some of your posts. Glad to have you on board.
I am in IL and you are welcome to come share my AC with me. You could teach me all about Pampered Chef.
I will be going up to Ontario next week - the kids have TI at Word of Life Bible camp in Owen sound :)
we will only be going for the weekend this year - in the past it's been for the whole week. Are you anywhere near there?

Hi Lauren-Thank you. :)
Tennis Mom-Oooooh, we could have some fun! :D I love PC. I'll be in Central Illinois very near the Heart of Illinois.
Kris-Owen Sound is I think about 1.5 hours from me. That is so neat you are coming here. :) Make sure you stop at Tim Horton's at least once. The Ice Caps are amazing, but be forewarned they put edible vegetable byproduct on top, it's not real whipped cream. Do you like candy? (they call candy bars Chocolate bars here) Coffee Crisp is yummy. Mackintosh bars are a big bar of chewy toffee, Smarties are like M&M's only bigger, have a harder candy shell and are swiss chocolate. Yum.
You're coming up for the weekend so how close to Canada are you?
Sara
I am in north central Indiana - it takes about 10 hours to get to owen sound.
I LOVE Tim Hortons coffee and plan on getting a big can to bring back home!
Maybe next year we will do the full week for camp.

My parents are moving back to IL from Fort Wayne this coming weekend. :) I always have to bring my mom a big container when we go home. That and chocolate Timbits. LOL
My one sister wanted me to try and bring her a Pizza Pizza pizza, she and I had shared a chicken, green pepper and fresh tomato pizza and she was craving it.
It's too bad you can't come for the week. You know, I don't know that I've ever been to Owen Sound. Is there an East Side Marios there? I love their Italian Wedding Soup.
My parents are moving back to IL from Fort Wayne this coming weekend.
They will probably need to drive through my town if they take Highway 30 :D
We're not really far from Ft. Wayne
Yes, Owen Sound does have an East Side Mario's - we ate there last year, well the adults ate there while the kids were at camp! I had Timbits last year and loved them - ok, now I'm really getting excited about going next week LOL What is a pizza pizza pizza?

To quote their commercials, "Pizza Pizza is Ontario's Favorite Pizza!" :D It really is good pizza imo. They have a 9.99 L or XL I forget which, walk in special on cheese pizza. It's yummy. But I love their family deal $35 for 6 pop, chicken wings, L pizza with 2 toppings and either a salad or two bite brownies (Who would order salad?!? ;) ). YUM. You can see it on pizzapizza.com . Just don't try to order by phone because they put you through to Toronto. . .go in. LOL
I'm glad you're getting excited! There's another food thing I love around here called St. Urbain's flat bread. I love their original. It has poppyseeds, sesame seeds and garlic on it plus salt. It's soooo yummy. Costco sells 400g containers for 3.85 or something like that. We usually bring home two. One makes it home.
Hey-have you tried Poutine yet? YUM!
the pizza sounds yummy and there is one in Owen Sound - I may have to suggest that we try that one time when we eat. I haven't tried poutine - not really sure what exactly that is. I think my dd &/or ds tried it last year at camp and didn't like it at all.
this time next week we will be sleeping for our long ride home!
