I will admit...I was one nervous mommy. Knowing that this was a new room downstairs instead of the upstairs nursery and that these were all new kids and new teachers PLUS they were bringing all the kids from 3 years old to 5th grade together for about 20 minutes to practice songs for a Christmas event....I wasn't sure how DS was going to handle all of it.
HE DID FABULOUS!!!! The director of the pre-k program said she would keep him back in the room during the practice time but I said if he wanted to go then to let him but know that he may need to be brought back to the room b/c it might be too much. Not only did he go...he tolerated all the kids singing and did fine. I was floored!
While we won't allow him to go on stage to sing on the 23rd b/c it will be too much for many 3 year olds much less an ASD one...I think it's great that he is wanting in on the practices! I am so proud of my little boy.
God works in so many mysterious ways and let me tell you...my DS is one of the most mysterious being that God created. Just when I think I know the kid...he changes up on me and does something I totally wouldn't think he would do! How awesome is that?
