We saw this movie yesterday afternoon, and we all liked it.

We agreed that it was one of the best family movies that we have seen in a long time, and the adults in the audience laughed as much or more than the kiddos!

There were a lot of dancers and stuff in it when they were singing, but I just asked my husband what he thought, and neither of us thought it was "overly" sexual at all. Most of what the review wrote about was stuff that was just silly in the movie, we thought.

I guess it is just point of view, but I would never tell you to go if the review makes you uncomfortable.

Thanks for the review Beck. My oldest ds (12) saw it with some friends on Friday evening and he thought it was hysterical.

We saw this today and while it was very funny, it's honestly not a movie that I would take my dad or my husband to see because of the immodest women and sensual dancing. I was a bit uncomfortable even having the kids there, but I did use it to explain to my son (8 years old) that women's bodies are not commodities--but are to be valued for the person they are inside.

The preview that they had before the movie was much much worse than the movie itself--I cringed big time and wished that my kids hadn't heard what they did.

Just my thoughts...

How old would you say is appropriate for this movie?

That's probably a matter of personal opinion...so I'll give you my personal opinion :) :) I took my almost 9 year old son to see it--and while I don't like the skimpy clad women or the types of dancing that was on it, I'm not going to nit pick every little thing. Like I said in my other post, I used it to talk to him about what is appropriate and what is not. There were really young kids in the audience and they were all laughing. It was really cute and hilarious--I just wish it didn't have the 'other' parts. Hopefully that helps...

Oh, after seeing the movie...I want a cute and cuddly chipmonk!:rofl:

My kids are 6 and 8. There were lots of kids in that age range at the movie. Too much younger, and I think it would be little over their head.

My ds & I saw it on Friday, I thought it was really cute. We laughed out loud several times. I didn't think it was sexual at all, maybe the dancing in one scene, but I bet kids see worse than that on tv!!!
