Bridge to Terabithia - movie

DD got both the movie and book for Christmas. I know she's definitely not ready for the book (she's not a very good reader) but what about the movie? I see it's PG, but I also remember the book, and I remember crying terribly at the ending. Is the movie as sad?

I heard it was very graphic and sad, but have not seen it myself.

we started watching it in airplane with my kids...it was so slow to start and I thought it was just strange...never made it to the end, but I can only assume it didn't have a happy ending.

My kids and I listened to the audio book before watching the movie and I was crying while driving. I had never read the book myself so I wasn't at all prepared.

The movie itself does have some cuss words but I don't remember anything graphic. I love the way the kids' imaginations "came to life".

We personally own this dvd ourselves.

OH it's a beautiful movie. My kids loved it and so did I. It does end sad but the message is beautiful...in my opinion anyway :)
