My own story: by Mom2JTSJ

I am a Mom to four beautiful adopted children. We have adopted them all through the Foster Care system. My oldest is 11 years old. We got him as a Foster-Adopt kiddo when he was just 11 months old. My next is a girl whom we got when she was 6 months old and she is now 9 years old. Then, about 2 and a half years ago we got 2 little sibling sisters they were ages 2 and 3 at the time and are now 5 and 6.

What an incredible blessing they have been in our lives!!:)

I'm wanting to adopt my foster baby *~UPDATED~*
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She is 10 months old and we got her when she was 7 months.

We were originally thinking of adopting from Korea or Guatemala, and may still for a second child.

This foster baby is such a blessing. We were just babysitting her and really had no intensions of adopting thru the foster care system. We were disgruntled foster parents at the time, and she really changed our hearts and the Lord opened the door for her to be placed with us.

Edited to add that this beautiful blessing has been adopted by us!

I have adopted 5 children through foster care. The three olderst are sibling adopted together - 3 years ago today!! I remember the day so well, but life has changed so much, it feels like forever ago. I can not remember live without them. Out younger two are full brothers, but not adopted at the same time. The oldest was adopted before the second came into our home. The youngest is the only one to have come directly from the birth parents home. They struggled to get him back, but other things had a grip on their life and he got to stay with us. We are very busy - I do not know how some of you do it.

time frame. My oldest dd was 3 years and 5 months old when we brought our ds (the youngest) home from the hospital.

All three of our children were private adoptions. When people ask us who our adoption agency was we planly state "God".

We have been abundantly blessed with our children.

I'm an adoptive mom too!! We have 3 kiddos - Our dd is 4 (will be 5 in September) - domestic newborn adoption. Our twins are 16 months old - embryo adoption.

My dh was also adopted as an infant - so I'm the oddball in the family who wasn't adopted!:D

We have 1 beautiful daughter from China that is almost 3 years old. We adopted her when she was 12 1/2 months old. We are in the process of adopting another daughter from China (LID for 9 months). With the slow down it looks like it will be several years before we get her. We also have 1 bio son that will be 25 soon and 1 bio daughter that is 22.

Hi, I'm new to the thread but we adopted our daughter Sophia two years ago from Ukraine. Wondering if anyone else has adopted from there as well? We used Lifelink, which has several offices in IL and FL, as well as other states I believe. We were very impressed with them. Bringing Sophia into our family (we have two biological boys) has completed our family and has been a gift from God. My prayers to all who are going through the process as I know it has its ups and downs!:banana2:

We've adopted 2 kids out of foster care and 2 dogs from the shelter! DD was 2 months old when she came to live with us as a straight foster that turned into an adoption. Her bio bro - DS was 3 months old when he came to live with us as a straight adoption.

I guess we love adoption!! :)

Our son is adopted. Ours is an open adoption. I was in the delivery room when he was born and we brought him home the next day. It was such a miracle. He is truly a gift from God, the reason for his name, Jonathan.
We are still in contact with his bio mom and her mom and her mom. LOL. He just turned 4 in August. We are all ready for a little brother/sister. I told J that God gave us him and He can give us another. :)

Our youngest was adopted from S. Korea. DH and I always knew that if we ever wanted a 3rd child we would adopt (ruling out any mulitples, as runs in my fam.) It was such a blessed expereince, there is just so much in an adoption that can only be explained by Gods hand working miracles all along the way. One of the most obvious miracles was the moment I first saw my son. I knew the time was drawing near when I would fly to Korea and remove this 5.5 month old from the only home he'd known with his foster mom, his country, etc. I began to pray that he's see me in his dreams, so that he'd know me and not be affraid - (we are awake in the USA while Korea is alseep). When in Korea and the foster mom took off her coat and my son was in the podegii on her back, he looked at me and just smiled a smile that said "there you are!" He never once cried or looked for anyone else - just transitioned in. A miracle.

Hi. We have 2 beautiful daughters from the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Our oldest turns 4 tomorrow. She was a 4 day old domestic adoption, but both of her birth parents are from the Marshall Islands. We decided to go back to the same country for our second daughter. Her one year adoption day will be November 1. She was just shy of 5 months when we adopted her. Our family wouldn't be complete without them.

Our son was adopted at 4 weeks in 2001. He is our Detroit baby! Our daughter was a *surprise!* and I gave birth to her in 2003. We plan to adopt again early next year, also from Detroit. Adoption is truly a gift from God! I love that God also made Jesus' earthly father Joseph the link to King David's bloodline!! God loves adoption!

I'm glad to say we will soon be adoptive parents to 4 little ones right here from the heartland through the local DFS division. Hopefully soon, but it is not happening as fast as we were told. So we were a little let down yesterday at the Lawyers office that it would be an additional 6-8 month wait after already waiting almost 2 years. However, we are gladly accepting God's calling upon our lives to add to our family by adoption (in which we have two teenagers by birth, one boy 15 and one girl 13). Out of the 4 we have had the baby boy now for just under 2 years. We have had him since he was 9.5 months old & he is now 2.5 years old. We got him from the hospital where he had been for 2 months due to severe abuse. In addition to the abuse, it has left him as being a miracle for all to see by which God has used in great and mighty ways. He was not expected to make it during life-flight which later was recesitated 3 times prior to arriving at the hospital. He now is blind, can finally see but only out of the left eye, he has Cerebral Palsy, is on a feeding tube and only has 1/3 of his brain left. He has been a complete Joy in our lives. That following December we received a baby girl 3 months of age (not related-whole-nother family) who looks exactly like us and our teenage daughter. She is now 1.5 years old and so sweetly ornery we just love her to pieces. We then last March received the baby boy's brother and sister whom are 5 and 4 now. So here we are on the long emotionally trying times of adoption. Our hearts are eager, but the state and laws do not work as your heart would have. The Lord has taught us much through this special thing called, adoption! Did I mention we also home school? LOL

Hi,
We have nine children total. We gave birth to our oldest three children-son-13yrs.old and 12-year old girl/boy twins; adopted our next five from foster care-daughter-9;son-8; daughter-7; son-7;daughter-6; and are guardians to-son-24 mos. old.
We know that we will adopt another sib group someday. We just don't know when. I never imagined that we would have as many children as we do, however, there is always room for more! God is so good!
Blessings,
Kim

Hello, I am brand new to this site, so forgive me if I mess this up somehow!

I have two wonderful kids, one through birth (8yrs.) and the other through adoption (3yrs.). We have been waiting to adopt domestically again for over a year now. We also had a miscarriage about six months ago which was very difficult to go through and has made the wait much harder. The Docs don't know how it happened since they only gave me a 1-2% chance of ever getting pregnant again. So, we are just waiting to see what God has planned, but it all has increased my desire for a baby and made waiting even harder.

Thanks for listening and good to see all the different stories of how God puts our families together--what a blessing these little ones are!

My husband and I adopted our oldest son in 1984 from Colombia, a set of twins in 1990 (domestic with special needs - foster/adopt), another son in 1993 (India) and we felt so blessed with our 2 boys and 2 girls. God is so good!!

BUT then ... after struggling with infertility for our whole married life ... out of the blue I got pregnant just after our 18th wedding anniversary ... and we were blessed with a son by birth!

We also had the amazing privilege of caring for many foster babies and toddlers for 8 years!

My cup runneth over!!! I am so blessed!!

We are trying. In July we both felt a tug to adopt a sibling group. We now have everything done including a homestudy. We have sent out a few inquiries. It is a much different process then I thought it would be, but I am looking forward to watching God work at the right timing. Thanks for asking Angie and I am praying God smooths out everything for this summer and you have a wonderful time bonding with your new son.

Thanks Mom2JTSJ! So great to connect with other moms who adopted through FC.
Adopting through foster care can be a frustrating process! (fost to adopt). We have quite a story, but it is all worth it in the end. I just wish more people would consider foster adoption as so many children age out of foster care and are on their own.
We pray that God blesses us with more of these wonderful children*.
Thank you for being a blessing to your children!
