Please post your cleaning schedule, if you have one, here.

It seems that everyone has a different idea of what "clean" is. I have found that our house doesn't need dusting every single week. Some rooms of my home need dusting every two weeks and others only need dusting once a month. I alternate my cleaning schedule week to week. For instance, this Monday I cleaned our master bedroom, next Monday I will clean the living room, and the Monday after that I will clean our master bedroom again. I use Thursdays as the day that I clean my "once a month" rooms. One the first Thursday of the month I will clean the kids' room, the second Thursday I will clean the office, the third Thursday I'll clean the laundry room and hallway, and then the fourth Thursday I will clean the dining room. When I clean a room I try to thoroughly clean it. This means dusting, Glass Plus, scrub toilet, tub, and sink, bleach counters, wipe down ceiling fans and baseboards as needed, clean windows as needed. I have revised my list NUMEROUS times. Here is list that I'm currently using:

Monday:
wash sheets and tablecloth
remake beds
clean master bedroom or living room

Tuesday:
wash towels
water plants
sweep/Swiffer floors
clean hallway bathroom

Wednesday:
wash kids' clothes
clean out fridge
empty trash
clean master bathroom or kitchen

Thursday:
wash whites
bring in trash cans
clean kids' room or office or laundry room/hallway or dining room

Friday:
wash colors
sweep/Swiffer
mop
vacuum

Saturday:
iron clothes
sweep decks
update checkbook and budget

There are some things that I omit from the list because they are just part of everyday upkeep of the house. I leave off things like making the bed, loading and unloading dishwasher, supper prep, and general pick-up. Every Saturday, when I'm writing out my list for the coming week, I will add in extras if they are needed. Chores like making out next month's menu, preparing a grocery list, and the monthly shopping trip will all be added into my list at the end of the month. I write in all appointments for the week and any phone calls that need to be made. Also, I don't let myself mark off my laundry for the day until everything is dried, folded, and put away. I have found that, by focusing on one room per day, I can keep up with housework without feeling overwhelmed. I stay home with a 2 year old and 5 month old and I'm (usually) able to complete my list. Depending on the situation (# of kids, working outside the home, etc...), I'm sure a lot of people could do more or less, but this is what works for me. It keeps me sane. By using this list, my house alway looks tidy. I have time to keep my house looking tidy and can focus on deep-cleaning just one room per day. I hope this all makes sense. If it doesn't, just let me know and I'll try to clarify.

I don't have a scheduale per say. I just do stuff when needed. Being there is just the three of us, some things I can put off.

I do vac and mop everyday
Empty litter box every other day

I don't have a specific plan either, but my house is usually very tidy....

Mostly, for me, it is about not having clutter.

My list is a lot more basic. I find I get overwhelmed with a very detailed list. But I am not a scheduled type of person. I try to have a routine so that my housework gets done.

Monday
Change beds if needed
Wash sheets/towels
Clean out fridge (get rid of any leftovers, etc.)

Tuesdays
Laundry
Clean bathroom
Mop all floors

Thursday
Do whatever laundry needs doing (uniforms usually)
Dust
Vaccuum

On off days, I do my grocery shopping, although I try to do that closer to the end of the week. I usually do menus for 2 weeks and that is on Sunday afternoon or Monday evening. Every day, I have a morning and an evening routine to make my life easier.

Morning:
Make beds
Change litter box
feed/water cat
Wipe off counters/table (in case the cat decided to explore during the night!
Wipe up sinks/mirrors in bath (if needed)
Change hand towel

Evening:
Change litter box
Clean up dishes
Wipe down all kitchen surfaces
Sweep and/or mop kitchen floor if needed
Empty trash
Get whatever is needed ready for morning (during school, I make lunches and make sure everyone has what they need for the next day, lay out clothes etc. During the summer, I'm more relaxed)
Make my list for the next day

My once a month things like cleaning out the fridge or whatever, I usually do when the mood hits me or I see that it is needed.

I've tried but find them frustrating. I keep a clean house, though, albeit not perfect!

Daily chores:
Dishes
Sweep/mop
Vacuum if needed
Water outdoor plants
Wipe down bathrooms
General pick up
Laundry if needed

Then I'll do whatever is screaming the loudest.

I don't have a schedule either. I just clean when it needs to be done. But I do TRY to do it weekly, it doesn't always happen...

My cleaning schedule consists of the following...

am--pray that they don't totally destroy the house.
early pm--pray that dh will feel like doing some picking up when he gets home.

late pm--praise God that dh and I got it put back together.

very late pm--pray that tomorrow it stays clean.

start all over again!

LOL
