We used:

Catholic Charities for our first adoption (although we are not Catholic - neither were dd's birthparents) -dd is now 4 yrs old-
and we used Bethany Christian Services for our embryo adoption - through which we were blessed with b/g twins - now 14 months old. Bethany also does domestic and international adoptions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been on & off this site for 3+ years or so & think I may have posted here about this in the past - but it's probably been several months - if not longer. So I can share again - if you've heard this before I'm sorry! :-)

And oops for the typo in my last post - meant to say "ectopic" not "eptopic."

After years of ttc & IVF attempts the ectopic/miscarriage was the straw that broke the camels back. We then decided to pursue traditional adoption. BTW - DH was adopted as an infant as well so we've always been open to adoption. We adopted beautiful newborn girl thru domestic semi-open & she's now 4 1/2 yrs old. When she was 2 we began to think of another child. Researched all adoption options. Had heard of embryo adoptionmany years ago while we were in the midst of IVF but after miscarriage had chosen traditional adoption. But now we were ready to give embryo adoption deeper consideration.

Knew about Snowflakes, talked to them, got info from them & we were very disappointed to realize that it wasn't a fit for us.

Actually, I remember posting on the HAH board around that time & I was so stressed about how to proceed - and one of the women here - I don't remember who - told me that she'd pray that God would make if "ridiculously clear" to us the direction that we should take. Shortly after that I found NEDC - and it was indeed ridiculously clear to both me & my husband that this was the way we were meant to add to our family. A direct answer to prayer.

When we found NEDC & saw that they were affiliated with Bethany we knew that we could trust them.

I contacted NEDC, got the process started, and we had our first FET (frozen embryo transfer) less than a year later! To our surprise (after our ttc history) all 3 embies that were transferred implanted! So we were expecting triplets! Sadly we lost one early on but went on to carry the remaining twins to 37 weeks & delivered them healthy. Had a boy & a girl. They're 14 months old now and couldn't be sweeter - although I'd really like to start sleeping at night again - but that's another post! :-)

Five years ago I didn't know if we'd ever have a child - and here we are today with three beautiful gifts from God!

Hope I didn't go on too long - I'd be happy to answer any other questions!

May I ask why you wouldn't use AAI again? You may PM me if you wish. They appear to have one of the best programs for Ethiopia and I would strongly consider them....I hadn't heard anything negative about them as of yet, but I'm open to all opinions and want to be prepared.
