Okay so this is my first post in this forum and I need some advice or suggestions. My 2nd child, Owen(2yrs old) was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and we are still trying to figure things out! There is a lot to take in and I could really use some advice! :dunno:

Get the SPD Bible "The Out of Sync Child" :giggle: It was awesome. I about fell out of my chair how much info it had and how perfectly it described my son. He is a sensory seeker. I also bought the book "The Out of Sync Child Has Fun". Not sure what happened with it so I might have to buy it again . This book is great for finding good activities for helping with the SPD and meeting the needs.

Look at the stickied thread above that says "Special Needs Resources."
One of the posts is about Sensory Integration, which is a different name for Sensory Processing. I've got a few links there that have some good, reliable information.

I'd definitely recommend The Out of Sync Child too, as well as the companion book, The Out of Sync Child has fun, which gives ton of activities you can do with your little one. Are you going to start seeing an OT with your child? My son (4) receives OT at school, and we've also been seeing an OT outside of school. This has been nice because I can go to OT with him and see what kinds of activities she does to help him out.
