Greetings from Oklahoma

First of all Happy 4th of July to everyone!

I just found this site after reading Meredith Efken's book SAHM I Am. Great read. Anyhoo. I recently moved to OK from Illinois (wish I would have found the group while still living there!!). I have 2 little girls ages 2 yrs and 9.5 months old. Before I became a SAHM I was working on my PhD in Neuroscience at ISU. When we found out about #2 and DH got a job offer in OK, I decided to quit and stay at home with my kiddos. I am enjoying not having to get up everyday and bust my butt out the door. I have a MS in Biology and hope to get back into teaching as an adjunct faculty member at the local college when the kids start school. But I only want to work part-time so that I can be home with them in the afternoons. I am looking forward to get getting to know some new mommies!

Welcome! My name is Janice. I'm a SAHM to a 2 year old DS and a 7 month old DD. We live in Missouri and my DH teaches criminal justice at our local college. DH is originally from Oklahoma. Actually, we were there visiting family just 3 weeks ago. DH grew up in a tiny town in southeast Oklahoma, but went to Stillwater to receive his BS and MS. He also lived in Perry for a bit. Whereabout in the state to you live (if you don't mind me asking)?

Anyhow, welcome to the board! There's a lot of helpful information and support that these ladies are able to share.

I live in OK with dh of almost 14 years, dds 9 and almost 3 and ds almost 5. We have lived north of Tulsa for the last 5 years and before that in Stillwater. I grew up in a suburb of Oklahoma City.

Welcome to the board! I live in southcentral Kansas, just a few miles from the Kansas/OK border. Married 20 yrs with three dks (15 yo dd, almost 10yo ds and 8yo dd). Just starting my second career as an elementary teacher this fall.

Hi, I'm April. Welcome to the board. I live in an Oklahoma City suburb. You are going to love Oklahoma once you get used to it here. HAH is a pretty great place too.
