View Full Version : What is your New Years' Goal ?

Has anyone been thinking about their New Year's Goal already or do you have a few like I do ?

I have had a hard time this year managing my time, so to do a better job at that is a goal. I sell Mary Kay part-time and I know I could do more with a little more goal planning and the help of babysitters.

Also, here lately I've noticed I feel I'm always in a hurry and don't quite get all my info down whether it be reading an e-mail from a friend, or paying attention when I'm in a conversation with someone. I seem to retain only certain parts of the conversation and not the important info I need ! So slowing down, listening, and paying attention to whatever it is, is also on my list of goals.

Taking time for myself is another goal. My DH purchased a spa gift cert. for my birthday last week along with a bath candle and some huge bath fizzies from the spa as a free gift from the store. He said I should go up right then to take a bath and I did ! Doing that more often is something I need to shedule as well as sitting down to read a book. I have an 11 yr old DD and a 3 yr old DD and sometimes I am constantly getting interrupted. (hence the not paying attention to what I'm doing !) I have found that even if I have to sit at the dinning room table with a pair of headphones on to get some reading done, is what I will have to do !!

What's on your list of goals ? Thanks

My goals are much the same as this year. I need to update my goals from this year and see where I made progress and where I didn't.

Focus on getting healthy. - Need to lose a lot of weight, see specialists that I've been putting off seeing for about a year, remember to take meds daily, eat healthier, etc.
Finish reading the Bible for the first time and then begin studying more deeply.
Get a part time job.
Save up enough money to move into a bigger apartment. - Our boy & girl are still sharing a bedroom. Now that our son will soon be 10, we think they're getting a bit too old to continue sharing a room.

Oh! I also want to make & start using one of those household management books that everyone keeps talking about. I think it will really help us get more organized.

I want to lose 20 lbs. That was my goal last year too. And the year before that. (and the year before that) Which would put us sometime around 2003 I believe that I decided I needed to lose 20 lbs. Not doing so well with that one, am I?

I lost about 12 lbs this past year. It took me three months to do it, and I was working very hard and dieting very strictly. Frankly, it was hard work and I just got sick of it. I'm not the type of person who loses weight easily. (I don't think it's necessarily easy for anyone, but when you average 1/2 a lb a week, it gets very frustrating.) I've gained back about half of it. I guess my weight isn't enough of a problem to me to stick with it, even though my vain side still wants to get rid of about twenty lbs. :dunno:

* to continue to work out 3-4 times per week.
* To lose 10 lbs at least (this was a goal from last year as well) I lost some, but gained some back.
* To look at my priorities in life and re-prioritize what is important in my life
* Spend more personal time with God by reading the bible, books, etc.
* To do more around the house so DH doesn't have to do most of the chores.
