I can't remember the ones I have read but I have read a few. I think they are good books and if you or the person reading them are new christians they are really good. I felt that I needed more out of them. I have to admit that it has been a while and he made have written more in depth books but I felt almost like a child when I read them. I did like "in the grip of grace" it was simple but every well done and the bible study was wonderful.

well, I guess I'm weird, but I find him VERY dry and too cerebral. I don't care for his books at all. jmho

That's funny Laura. I find him not cerebral enough and too fluffy. They are very good "feel good" books that will touch your emotions. I loved them when I was a milk Christian. Now I need more substance in my Christian literature. That said, I do have some as bathroom reading material.

Lol...well, he drove me nuts enough that I haven't even picked one up in years...so maybe it WAS the fluffiness that bugged me!

Very possibly...my memory stinks, other than knowing I couldn't stand his writing.:giggle:

I don't think it does, MJ. Apparently one person's milk is another person's meat. Don't worry about what others think about them. If you enjoy them and you are fed and grow from them than praise God for that!

I have wanted to read some of the books he writes for adults and I'm not going to let others' comments dissuade me from that. My children have several of his children's books and they are wonderful, IMO. I'm sure his adult books are equally wonderful.

Whether it's milk or meat he definitely has a way of touching the heart! For many years I've missed out on learning about the love that the Lord lavishes on us. This is a point that is evident in many of his books-he seems to do a good job driving that point home. I truly appreciate his ability to communicate God's love.

I'm sorry that I don't have an official book of his to recommend...they're all good. Are there specific titles of his that you're looking at? Maybe we can help narrow it down if you have some titles in mind. :flowers:

blessed with a very creative writing style, that is easy to read and understand. I enjoy his creative "way with words" and the word pictures that he draws with his descriptions! I have read a lot of his books and have been encouraged by his writing.

I would have to say that my favorite...so far....is the very first Lucado book that I read: Traveling-Light. This book is centered around the 23 Psalm and encourages readers to let go of their "baggage" and "let God carry your burdens". Here is an Amazon link that lets you browse part of the book and read book reviews and even search for other Lucado titles.

Another neat thing about the Max Lucado books is that there are study question in the back of the books for further discussion, research, study, etc.

Enjoy!
