I'm currently reading this book and wanted to recommend it here. J.R. Miller talks about the Biblical parts each family member has within the home. Written in 1882 - it is timeless!
Originally published in 1882, this work is not merely for women on how to be keepers at home. Home-Making is for every member of the family, sharing what the Scriptures say about roles and relationships in a harmonious Christian household. From the marriage relationship of husband and wife, to the parental relationship of parent and child, to the sibling relationships of brothers and sisters (one of the best chapters of the book), Rev. Miller used Scripture, stories, word pictures, and poetry to challenge us to live to God`s glory. The importance of making a loving, memorable, faith-filled home is the emphasis of the book. If there was ever a time our society needed strong families, now is the time. By God`s grace, Home-Making`s classic and Biblical approach will refresh your desire to create exactly that kind of home in your neighborhood.
You can read it online for free, but I detest reading books online. I must have one in my hand! :giggle: http://home-making.jr-miller.com/
