Default Got lab results today on my 8 year old...please pray...m

Christopher (my child with epilepsy) had lab work done last week in order to check on some level that his epilepsy medicine can cause to go crazy. The doc office called today to say that all those levels were fine, but that his white blood count was low. We went back to the lab this afternoon for more tests. The results we got today said his WBC was 2.7 (normal range of 4.0-9.1). Today a CBC with differentials and platelets was ordered. I hope and pray that it was a lab error. We hope to get the labs from today back tomorrow--the lab said the doctor should get them tomorrow.

Honestly, I am scared. I KNOW that low WBC can be cancer, leukemia specifically, lupus, etc. I believe viruses can lower it, too--while bacterial infections raise the levels. But, I don't know if 2.7 is considered very low or what.

Any nurses or docs or docs' wives want to share or give info, I am all ears. Shoot straight with me please.

Most importantly, please join me in prayer for my precious Topher.

It CAN mean something but it CAN mean nothing too, which is more likely. He probably had a bit of a virus that day... my kids have been low before too and a 2nd draw comes back totally fine. Don't borrow from tomorrow's troubles (easier said than done huh?).

Please update as soon as you can.

And I owe you a long PM. Short of that PM would say "nothing new, nothing worse, nothing better, still praying and thanks for helping".
